Deconstruction Engineer
Keith Cullum
Keith
Cullum graduated from the Architectural Engineering program at Cal Poly San
Luis Obispo in 2007. He has always been partial to building design and construction
and was able to expand his interest and knowledge of the industry while studying
at Cal Poly. When searching for a senior project, he saw the Lifecycle Building
Challenge as a great way to merge the insight he had gained with sustainability
-- a concept he had yet to learn much about. Overall, the experience was
a great one, fueling his desire to learn more about the interconnectivity
of building design and environmental impact. Keith is currently working as
a Project Engineer at BORM Associates in Irvine, California.
Paul Sargent
Paul Sargent recently graduated from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo in June 2007 with a major in Architectural Engineering. Although the program attempts to integrate all the different phases of a building's design, it did not cover sustainable building ideas in much detail. After hearing about the Lifecycle Building Challenge, he thought it seemed like a great opportunity to explore sustainability in more depth. Currently, Paul works at Structural Design Engineers in San Francisco as an entry level structural engineer.
